Dr. Sejun Song, Associate Professor in the Computer Science Electrical Engineering department at UMKC, was recently announced as a winner of the 2013-2014 Montague-Center for Teaching Excellence Scholars Award.  SCE welcomed Dr. Song onto the teaching and research faculty in August 2013 and commends him on this great achievement.

Dr. Song was a Tenure Track Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University from 2009 until 2013.  During his four years as a faculty member there, he received over a million dollars in grants and equipment donations for his research projects.  He has also released over 30 research publications, and was awarded six US patents.  Dr. Song also served as the Founding Director of the Cisco Test Engineering Center (Cisco-TEC) during his time at Texas A&M.

The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) at Texas A&M University Awards Program, started in 1991, is named after its founding donor, Kenneth Montague, and honors early-career excellence in undergraduate teaching at Texas A&M.  Annually, each academic college selects one tenure-track faculty member to receive this prestigious award.

Dr. Song will be teaching Introductory Networking and Applications, Introduction To Operating Systems, and Practical Network Security at UMKC during the 2013-2014 school year.
